Hi Keith, Sorry for taking so long in replying, had a variety of issues to deal with. I am hoping that we can get some sort of Masters Short Track Event by the end of the 2009/2010 season, possibly in Europe (Turnhout - Closing Games? ). Apparently, the ISU have put a kybosh on using the words 'World' or 'Championship' but I'm sure we can come up with an appropriate name to hold a championship. Dr. Volker Serini asked if I would take over the IMSSC ST site and I agreed and the recommendation was endorsed by the committee in Norway recently, so hopefully we can lift the profile of Masters ST through that avenue as well. As usual, feel free to email me with any news or information, and once again, to all who have been patient, I am sorry for the lack of information over the last couple of months, Happy Skating Frank www.worldmastersshorttrack.com

The World Masters Games have been held every 4 years since 1985. The first World Winter Masters Games are being held next year in Slovenia. There only 6 events at the games (skiing, biathlon, ice hockey, ski jumping, cross country skiing, indoor football/futsal) but we could lobby to have short track added to the events list of the 2014 Games. Would the ISU back this do you think? See the link for details of the forthcoming games: www.2010mastersgames.com/WWMG2010_EN,,.htm cheers Alison
